(Pastor Widger's Monthly Message for April 2019)

This is what the LORD says, “Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls.” Jeremiah 6:16

Christ followers are constantly seeking God’s wisdom -asking him for the “ancient paths” and the “good ways”. When we discover these paths and ways, we find rest for our souls. Sounds amazing doesn’t it!

We as individuals and as a congregation continue to ask God to reveal his tried and true ways again in 2019 and beyond. On Ash Wednesday over 100 people from our family of faith came together to listen to each other and to the Lord. Our team which is listed below has labored intensely (20 hours of meetings in March in the Strat Op’s process alone) to “ask for the ancient paths”, and “ask for the good ways”. We have sought God’s wisdom and discernment. We went through a mission, vision and values clarification process. Together we worked on some short term “smart goals”. It is all very exciting! We are currently awaiting the final pieces of the puzzle from our consultant, Joshua Yarbrough. Very soon we will be sharing the excellent work the team has done.

Please take the time to encourage and speak with our teams: the Board of Directors (Jim Schmidt, Steve Alloy, Joe Elmers, Nancy Grieser, Barbara Koehn, Brian Rukavina, Jim Runzheimer, David Swille, Gary White and Steve Woolston), Jennifer Chavez, Sharon Folks, Jessica Nieves, Jennifer Rukavina, and Doug Widger.

This is an exciting time to be a part of Grace Lutheran Church!
